The Timeless Arch

We worked with our client to design this first-floor renovation of a York County, Pennsylvania home. The house, built in 1992, was outdated, so we gave the kitchen, living room, master bath, office, dining room, and family room a new modern and sophisticated look. We used the prominent arched window in the family as our timeless inspiration throughout the home to bring a cohesive look. Most 90-degree lines were replaced arches, which connected the design throughout the first floor. We modified the design of the existing wet bar by creating an arch with custom red oak wood stained black. The wet bar is complimented with a fluted marble backsplash and accent lighting. We designed custom built-in shelves in the living room and re-centered the fireplace to bring in more of the half-arched window design on either side of the fireplace. The kitchen was gutted and replaced with custom white oak and white-painted cabinets. Continuing to focus on the timeless arch, we added a dark accent tile to the wall with the arched window and behind the free-standing bathtub. The detailing of this design brings cohesion to using the arch, including the new stair railing. 

Mid-Century Kitchen

Our client wanted to create an inviting space for socializing with friends and family. Working with Paul Collins General Contractor, we opened the dining room with the established kitchen, creating a much larger gathering space. We designed this space with unique details, including custom cabinetry, cabinetry hardware, light fixtures, and flooring--all help to give it that mid-century feel. 

Transitional White Kitchen

From ordinary to luxurious, this transitional white kitchen renovation is truly one-of-a-kind. White transitional designed custom cabinets from floor to ceiling accented in gold hardware replaced the standard cherry cabinetry. By using custom cabinetry, we were able to expand and maximize the functional space within the kitchen. This kitchen includes a custom 60-inch range hood, which covers a Wolf brand range. A 36-inch Wolf refrigerator and freezer match the white cabinetry and a separate 30-inch beverage column. Quartz was used for the countertop and backsplash. This spacious kitchen is perfect for entertaining, with a new table that seats six and an island that seats four. 

Modern Master Bath

This master bath renovation involved the transformation of a traditional-style bath into a modern oasis. Accent lighting highlights the custom floating vanities and modern perpendicular lines that are the backdrop to the freestanding tub. Gold fixtures and cabinetry hardware accent the warm colors used. 

Refined, Structured Kitchen

This modest-spaced kitchen renovation optimized the area while delivering on the details. Looking to upgrade and modernize, our client wanted to replace the existing cherry cabinets, granite countertops, and tile floor, while shifting appliance locations to gain efficiencies within the space. The refrigerator, originally located adjacent to the sink, was relocated to the wall opposite the sink, replacing the double ovens. The double ovens were moved, replacing an unused desk behind the island. The stovetop replaced the original location of the refrigerator with a custom-designed cooktop hood inspired by the existing architectural elements of the decorative wood beams in the home. Built-in shelves along the sides above the stovetop now have room for common cooking essentials, such as spices and oil. We combined the warmth of white oak with prominent dark blue cabinetry, a white subway tile backsplash, a quartz countertop, and updated tile flooring for a refined modern kitchen.

Modern Mudroom

This large family struggled to find storage and stay organized with the demands of life in the layout of their existing home. The decision was to construct a new build addition to their home where the entire family could have more space. We designed the layout of an addition, which added a large mudroom for the kids to park their stuff in cubbies, a large space for doing laundry, new cabinets for storage, and bench seating. Classic black and white colors accented with gold fixtures give this mudroom a modern flare.

Outdoor Living

For this outdoor oasis, we worked closely with Paul Collins General Contractor to assist with the layout and functionality of this backyard. The covered barbeque area offers a bar with seating for six, and an inviting fireplace for cozy fall nights. All finishes and furnishings were selected and procured by us.

Master Retreat

We took this dated spacious master bathroom and made it into a master retreat. The client wanted to modernize all aspects of the bathroom while keeping the utilities in their place–especially the built-in fireplace. We removed the wall-to-wall floral wallpaper, light fixtures, wall-length vanity mirror, builder-grade white cabinets, flooring, and the jacuzzi tub. The result is a warm, inviting retreat-like environment offering a gray chevron-tiled floor, custom white oak cabinets with double vanity, and a quartz countertop. The walk-in shower features a mixture of updated ceramic and glass tile with a bench encased with transparent glass shower walls. Coordinating with the warm wood tone are two natural pendant lights that hang over the freestanding tub, nestled beside the gas fireplace.

Illuminated Foyer

We transformed a dark and traditional foyer into a modern illuminated entry by opening adjacent rooms and adding ceiling bling. The opening of the adjoining rooms let us borrow light to flow into the foyer, giving the space natural light. The focal point is a custom chandelier designed to be viewed on all three levels of this home as it hangs between the curved staircase.  

Luxe Master Bath

This master bath renovation allowed us to create a modern yet dramatic look using darkened, cool colors. The existing layout of the bathroom needed to be optimized for use, so we relocated a few walls, letting us take advantage of the existing skylight over the shower. We added a drywall frame around the vanity to add color against the stark colors of the counter and tile--leaving a very luxe feeling. 

Shades of White Master Bath

This master bathroom renovation is a beautiful balance that uses shades of white, and simplicity mixed with some transitional flare. We used a Calacatta gold marble floor, which was the perfect touch of warmth to the space. The signature traditional chandelier over the freestanding tub emphasizes the transitional style.

Luxury Outdoor Living

This outdoor living space is #goals. Working closely with Paul Collins General Contractor, we assisted with designing the layout for the covered barbeque area and consulted on the colors, tile, countertop, lighting, and furniture used.

White Simplicity

This kitchen renovation was designed with simple white shaker-style cabinets accented with beaded white detail. As a compliment to the white cabinetry, we layered the look with a wood finish island that seats five. The gold-framed pendant lights add a simplistic focal point to complete the look of this kitchen. 

Warm Wood Cladding Kitchen and Living Room

This significant transformation involved customizing the kitchen and adjacent family room to create a cohesive open space. We used a structural steel beam to connect the rooms, which supported the side walls and framed the kitchen while giving it a warm, natural texture. Using wood cladding, the process of using a series of decorative wood panel designs, we breathe the unexpected design element into this space.

Living Room Update

When our client moved into their home in gorgeous Annapolis, Maryland, they immediately wanted to change the large, outdated living room. To add some modern flair, we removed the existing tops of the built-in shelves, which allowed for a more oversized wall for their TV. Accent wallpaper and two sconces for symmetry were added as the background. A perfectly sized sectional borders the new living room, along with a  sofa table and two stools, adding two extra seats for entertaining.

Tranquil Master Bedroom

Our client was so thrilled with our previous design work on the renovation of their master bath, that we were asked to come back to design a coordinating master bedroom. The existing recessed ceiling over the bed gave us the ability to add unexpected dramatic detail to the room with the use of dried banana peel wallpaper. We selected and procured new bedroom furniture to give the natural, tranquil mid-century modern vibe. 

A Framed Kitchen

Now, with kids, our clients’ existing home layout was not conducive to family connection as the kitchen and family room were separated by a wall. Additionally, the cabinet space was limited in the kitchen. Our solution was an open floor plan by connecting the kitchen to the family room, which required the installation of a steel beam and the addition of a wall of tall cabinets for more storage. We used the steel beam as an opportunity to add drama to the room by painting the drywall around it black, framing their new kitchen.

Nature-Inspired Master Bath

This master bathroom renovation design was inspired by the beautiful property this home sits on overlooking the Susquehanna River in York County, Pennsylvania. To improve the functionality of this bathroom, we removed the unused corner bathtub and turned it into a beauty station. The custom-designed floating vanities are made from rift-cut oak, giving it a modern look that is complimented by a natural organic-looking chandelier.
